- Commissioned by the San Francisco Opera for Maria Callas in 1963
- Never performed in its entirety - until now.

What’s New
Sappho recording lead roles
International cast for Sappho recording announced. Deborah Polaski and Sir John Tomlinson are planned to lead the recording of Sappho in Portugal with the Gulbenkian Orchestra and Chorus. In celebration of the composer's centenary, the Sappho CD is to be released in late 2012.
